Don Louis Carriere Rites Held Today - CHURCH POINT La. — Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Don Louis Carriere, 77, who died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday at the home of his son, Yves Carriere of Rayne. Mr. Carriere had been in ill health for a long time. He was born and raised in the Church Point community.
The Church Point Funeral Home was in charge of burial in the Church cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, Napoleon, Anatole, Eldridge Carriere of Church Point and Yves Carriere of Rayne, eight daughters, Mrs. Theophile Leger, Mrs. John Thibodeaux, Mrs. Alcee Thibodeaux, Mrs. Hamilton Godeau, and Mrs. Jessie Nelams of Church Point, Mrs. Leory Kolber of Lewisburg, and Mrs. Thomas Godeau and Mrs. Pierre Thibodeaux of Lawtell; 67 grandchildren, and 53 great grandchildren.
