CAPTOLA McCLAIN RAFFETY ROLWING, age 93, a resident of Charleston formerly of Wyatt, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Charleston Manor.
Born May 22, 1919 in Anniston to the late John and LaVerne Price McClain, she had lived in Wyatt for 66 years before moving to Charleston in 2003. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
In July 1938 she married Ulysses G. Raffety of Alfalfa Center who preceded her in death in March of 1953. In February 1956, she married John Francis Rolwing of Texas Bend who preceded her in death in February 2003.
Surviving are five sons and four daughters in law: Joseph and Delores Raffety of Clarksville, TN; Phillip and Glenda Raffety of rural Wyatt; Daniel and Verna Raffety of Savannah, GA; John and Claudia Raffety of Germantown, TN; and Kevin Rolwing of Brooklyn, NY; and two daughters and one son in law: Julia Raffety of Nashville, TN; and Celeste and Charles Moxley of Charleston; twenty one grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and her loving friend and caregiver, Melissa Cockrum of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by one son, Fred Raffety, four brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston.
Interment will follow in the Texas Bend Cemetery under direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Clif Howard, Stephen Moxley, Andres Raffety, Andrew Raffety, Dan Raffety Jr., David Raffety, Grant Raffety, and John Raffety Jr.
