Vintage Botanical Print - Cochlioda densiflora by Kaplicka 1970


This is an original antique chromolithographic book plate, which has been taken from a disbound botanical book, illustrated by Jirina Kaplicka dated 1970.

The print is a beautifully detailed chromolithograph, printed on medium-weight, creamy coloured paper. This print would look lovely if mounted and framed, either on its own, or in association with one of our other botanical illustrations.

The plates in this book are printed with text describing a different plant on the reverse, which can be perceived if held up to the light. They exhibit bright and vivid colouration.

Approximate print size: 10.25 x 8 inches (26 cm x 20 cm).

As with all items of this age, there may be some slight characteristic foxing, toning or marking but the condition of this one is good, and the image is clear and bright.
