Selling Ferocactus Wislizeni var. Ajoensis. I personally collected the seed in Ajo, AZ spring of 2021. This newly recognized barrel cactus is distinguished by its slender stem proportions, longer, denser, more robust spines, and an earlier and longer flowering period during the summer months. Unlike the standard Ferocactus Wislizeni found mostly on sandy and rocky soils, the Ajoensis are found growing on flat basin floors dominated by silts and clays.

Gorgeous 3"-4" red-orange bi-color flowers that appear during the Arizona summer monsoon season, expect seed pods fully developed by winter.

Pro-Tip- Eash to grow needs warm soil temperatures, a high humid environment, and bright direct light for fast germination. Google "baggie method". Keep your non-organic cactus seed soil mix fast draining while keeping the soil moist but not saturated.
