Echinocereus fitchii var. bergmannii

A variety of E reichenbachii from Mexico, E. bergmannii is noted for its lace-like white spines and huge lavender-pink flowers. Grow it in a mostly mineral soil mix and water during the growing season only after soil has dried. Feed with a quarter-strength, balanced fertilizer such as 7-7-7. Full sun exposure is best but some afternoon shade is okay. Cold hardy to at least 25°F for a few hours if kept dry.

Germination of cactus seeds is about timing, temperature, quality of seeds, cleanliness, and establishing a technique for sowing. Some species have a higher germination rate, and/or a lower germination time than others. For that reason a specific success rate can't be guaranteed. If you are having trouble getting any of your seeds to germinate, please let me know.
