Illustrated edition First printing by Tony Johannot, preceded by a historical record by Jules Janin. 18 insets on China laminated on strong paper and 90 in-text vignette; Frontispiece in monochrome by Wattier. In title page, the title is well Manon Lescaut in white letters, detail that signals a First printing. Beautiful typographic ornaments inspired by the 17th century. The copy is quite complete of the two half-titles separating the two parts, with a gold cartridge. Copy untrimmed, at all margins.
Binding in demi-veau iced cherry marbled. Smooth back decorated with 2 irons mirror joined by nets. Golden title. Superb wave paper with waves, yellow, black and pink. Flesh scattered in the margins, on a white paper. Serpentes present.
Beautiful copy, fine illustration and typically romantic, and the printing particularly neat.
