I was using an VGA adapter on and IBM ThinkPad T430 but it would have lines across the screen and are distracting on white backgrounds. I was able to turn on the Display port setting on my laptop and i got this cable to work with the my Acer 22 inch monitor. It work like a charm. No more lines on white backgrounds.
