This game represents a little piece in the Dreamcast history. The game was hyped as a MGS killer. It promised online gaming in a way we never saw before. The graphics where hyped up as well. Unfortunately by the time this was released (in Europe) the dreamcast was pulled off the market. The game never saw a US release. Features that where promised where cut off and never made it. Presumably to get the game out since it was essentially complete. The game showed the potential of the Dreamcast graphics and showed that yes it could indeed compete with the PS2 and possibly 1st gen Xbox games. Aside from some minor pop-up when speeding on the motorcycle the graphics where top notch. The music and sound are also great. The game was produced by a company called Amuze an upstart company this was their first game entry and a good one. Sadly for them the game was only released in PAL markets then later ported to PS2. It was basically lost in the shuffle since the Dreamcast was already dead. The game has sort of a campy B movie setting but done well. Dialog was down well they managed to pull of the campiness and B movie script pretty darn well. My main gripe in this game is the unnecessary driving around in the motorcyle to gain points. You need these points to upgrade weapons and license. The hard part is you only rack up the points will driving full speed. If you hit anything the points are stopped and sometimes taken away. Making this aspect of the game frustrating. I have to think here the developers probably had something else planned but didnt have time to implement it. Also though the puzzles are implemented well and most of them easy and the way they are presented pretty much flows with the game. However, i feel they went slightly overboard with them as in too many of them. The camera at times can be awkward and not always in the right position. Doesnt happen a lot but enough to get notice. Luckily you can snap it back behind you at a push of a trigger button. Other than that the game the plot is all executed fantastically. While it wasnt the MGS killer it was a good game. Part 2 was released for Xbox/PS2. Amuze never got the camera system right and was at times worse than the original. Although the game had decent graphics reviewers gave it just above average reviews. I dont think either of the games sold extremely well. Especially since part 1 for Dreamcast never made it then later the port was lost in the shuffle. Forcing Amuze to close its doors. All in all the game represents what the Dreamcast could of bought to the table if the overly hyped PS2 didnt kill it. Even when the PS2 port appeared a whole year later the graphics where still great for what would be a 2nd generation game on that platform.Read full review
