This is the first home projector I have bought. I wanted it primarily to use with my firestick for films and sport and its very good for this. It's also brilliant for the kids playing their games console (ps4). They are amazed at playing fifa or Fortnite on a screen the size of the wall. I done a bit of research prior to purchase and must say I was initially drawn to cheaper models claiming a better spec on Amazon. Many of the reviews on Amazon are skewed with some companies offering 'free gifts' for a positive review. When you actually check the 1 and 2 star reviews on Amazon you get a flavour of what you might actually be getting. I found experienced projector users would recommend paying a little more and going for a reputable brand. I decided to do just that and I have been very impressed with my projector. It's very simple to set up, easy to focus and the picture quality (even at 150 inches, which is as big as I can have mine for the size of the room/wall) is in perfect HD. The sound given from the base unit also goes louder than I expected and for home use there's no need for a sound bar or additional speakers. It does have some limitations in that the screen size can only be increased or decreased significantly by moving the projector closer or further from your screen/wall. Mine sits about 3-4 metres back and projects an image between 125-150 inches (which looks huge in the room). It also has to sit pretty straight on or the image skews diagonally. I su if you're looking for a short throw that beams from 45 degrees then you'll have to pay a fair bit more than you would for this. The bulb is pretty bright, it obviously works best in a darkened room but the picture is still pretty clear with the lights on. If lights are on some of the darker parts of the screen in a film or game become more difficult to distinguish though. Overall I admittedly don't have anything to compare it to but if you're looking for a fair priced quality home projector then Id definitely recommend this one. It's better than I expected it'd be and I'm delighted with my purchase.Read full review

It's early days but so far great picture quality even on eco mode as that gas next to no fan noise and longest lamp life so its where I'm.happy with performance etc. After using the Chinese LED projectors previously this Optima lamp projector is far superior and on our 120" screen at 13-14fr away (image slightly reduced to fit) it's great! We have a firestick plugged in and use that to Bluetooth sound out and it's fab as we have movie apps etc loaded on meaning very easy access and strong performance. Highly recommended.

This projector ticks all the boxes well priced and great quality, the 3d is second to none, and the picture quality is great, I did find a slight issue if you push the sharpening it tends to make the pic look slightly pixelated and sends the color off. I loved this projector but I am very susceptible to the rainbow effect and as this was the first DLP I had watched I had to return. But If that was not a issue I would have this projector In a second well done optoma.
