Bought this to upgrade an old system using a 4130 to this chip, handles 1080p 60fps gaming really well when paired with a GTX 1060 6GB for a on the cheap gaming build! Price was good, it came in it's original foam packaging so I knew the pins would be 100% fine! Overall a great upgrade.

The AMD FX-8300 is a great CPU. Performs well with all aspects of the PC. It uses only DDR3-1333 memory, anything above will run noisy and/or over heat. Resolved the problem experiencing with the AM3+ Socket. A step above the FX-6300 that performs wonderful and unlocked. At 95w TDP the CPU don't require much power or cooling. Works well with Linux and Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 & 10. Perform better than the other AMD 95w 8 core CPU's. The features are wonderful for the PWM and air cooling. Great CPU for an AM3/AM3+ motherboard.

This is one of those upgrades that instantly made a difference. The 2011 6x00 processor was still doing it's thing, but apps were getting laggy, and the system fan had begun running endlessly from the moment I started up. The upgrade to 8300 has resulted in responsive system and apps, and the fan kicks in only when I'm doing the most intensive gaming and/or Adobe CC post processing. It is such a delight to use my system now, that I realize I would have happily paid much more. much sooner, had I known how drastic the improvement would be.

Excellent multi-tasking process, use this for work, churns through my 37 open tabs and 9 different applications at once, no lag, stays cool.

even on the old am3+ MOBO using DDR3, overclocked and paired with new GDDR5 video card, gives excellent graphics rendering on single monitor. And 1920x1080 looks good for grand strategy games.
