Awesome system,plays everything i throw at it. One thing tho, i recommend buying some original nes,snes and genesis controllers because the controllers are cheap that come with the system. But, you really want to play these old games with the controllers that you played them with back in the day. I got to play super mario bros again with an original nes controller and it made me feel like i was 10 years old again. Very awesome.

Sometimes you have switch multiple times to get the snes to work. Hard to get games out, they fit really snug in the ports. You must buy wired controllers, the wireless ones that come with system are very unresponsive. But the system works well, sound and video are great. I have yet to find a game that the system will not play. Its a real space saver having three systems in one.

This is a great system. Unfortunately they waste shipping weight by including the completely useless wireless controllers. These are hands down the WORST controllers ever made in the history of time. Don't even try to use them. I suckered That's Entertainment to buy mine off me for $2 each. Made $4 back! Savings! No game complications as of yet. Plays SNES games with the FX chip in them. Starfox and Stunt Race FX work flawlessly. Dragon Warrior and CV3 for NES work fine. Drawback? Game Genie functionality. It would have been nice for a built in game genie option. I have not had one game successfully play well or sometimes at all if using the Game Genie on my NES. *SNES or Genesis not tested for GG compatibility. With original system controllers you will find this clone system to meet all definitions of satisfaction. And SVideo output works for all 3 systems. Remember... My NES and the cables are getting on in years so this comes along at a great price and I jumped at the chance to get one. It plays all of my old games, even the ones that required a few tricks to work in my NES, and the Game Genie as well. There are a few drawbacks, however, like the sound only being mono since there is only one audio cable, the controllers feel kind of flimsy while something rattles inside, and the console itself doesn't want to let go of the games. Besides these minor annoyances the system is a great buy with sturdy parts, easy set up, long cables, and is compatible with all the old NES attachments and original controllers. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a RetroN, then this is the next best thing.

I bought this a few months ago & it seems to be holding up pretty well. It plays SNES, NES, & Genesis carts, duh, lol. This console plays the SNES & Genesis carts well, but NES games, that's a whole different story. It seems to not want to play Monster Party for some reason. I've cleaned the cart with Brasso, then with isopropyl alcohol. Still, it won't play 99% of the time. The game will only start up if you get it into the Retron just right. After trying putting the cart back in & out for many tries, it will play alright. It seems to want to play only certain games. If you want to use a Game Genie, it will not accept it at all. The only solution would be is to buy a refurbished NES on EBay, to save me frustration. Like I said before, it plays SNES & Genesis carts with no problem. It will play 97% of all NES carts, just to warn potential buyers. The wireless controllers work alright, at least they do for me. This console will save you money for the fact that it's a 3 in one console. Only Nintendo purists will be put off by the Retron 3.Read full review
