And Now For Something Completely Different - Eric Idle!
Anyone who is a fan of Monty Python, especially Eric Idle, will find a great deal of enjoyment reading this book. Eric's diary of his last comic tour of the States is not only amusing, witty & cheeky but the reader also gets a very personal look at Eric Idle, the man, not just a former Python, brilliant writer & comic extrodinaire. There is a wonderful section of mostly color photos. The only thing lacking is more photos, both color and black & white should have been included. There are a number of quotes included by Eric's most cherished friend, the late George Harrison. it's no wonder that Eric & George were very close friends - they both shared wicked, deadpan humor! As a bonus, lyrics to some of the Python songs, also authored by Eric are included in this book. Eric Idle is no ... As a spoof, a very large trash can was placed near the stage, nightly. Eric informed the audience that if anyone wished encores at the end of the show, they were expected to pay for the encores! Much to Eric & the rest of the cast's surprise, besides all manner of items, including love notes to Eric, a pair of undies, members of the audience actually threw in coins & other cash! The money collected was donated to charity. Eric is a devoted family man. He also enjoys meeting his fans. Speaking from personal experience, I had the pleasure of meeting Eric Idle during the publicity tour for "Life Of Brian" & found him to be funny, charming & quick with a smile!
