[...] If we consider the two “fathers” of Informalism, we notice right away that in their poetic toolkit precedence is given to matter: Fautrier dispenses material clots and haptic pastes of laboured, slow, and savoured agony, in which existential space touches the tuning fork of his “journey to the end of matter”, revealing itself as pulsing flesh, vital and agonised at the same time.
