18486 COLT CONVERSION POCKET NAVY REVOLVLER

This is the 3 ½” round barrel conversion. It is .38 centerfire caliber with five-shot stepped cylinder and 3 ½” round barrel with no provision for loading lever or ejector rod. The barrel is perfectly marked in two lines with the Colt address. The barrel is nickel plated with about 80% shiny plating remaining. The plating has flaked some on the right side with brown staining in those places. The frame has about 75% nickel plating and is excellently marked with two line patent dates on the left side below the cylinder. Edges and corners are sharp. The cylinder has about 85% of the cylinder scene engraving remaining. Action works perfectly. The serial numbers appear to be a factory mistake on this gun. The number 315077 is stamped on the barrel, frame and cylinder. The backstrap and triggerguard have the number 315677 marked. The only difference in these numbers is the number 0 and the 6 in the third position from the right. It is quite possible and believable that this is a factory mistake. The brass backstrap has no plating remaining while traces of plating remain on the triggerguard. One piece walnut grips are in excellent condition with moderate wear around the butt. Overall condition is very fine.
