By Severed has been announced for PS Vita by DrinkBox Studios.
From the developer of Guacamelee!, the new game sees players assume control of a one-armed heroine who wields a living sword.
The touch-screen is used to attack and defend against enemies, while abilities are gained by defeating bosses and creating Totems from their remains.
Enemies can also be forced into a vulnerable state, giving players a brief amount of time to cut off body parts. These pieces can be collected to upgrade equipment and abilities.
Severed is slated to launch in spring 2015.
DrinkBox Studios' previous game Guacamelee! was originally released on PS3 and PS Vita in 2013, before it was ported to numerous other platforms including PC, PS4, Wii U and Xbox One.
