Marvel has confirmed casting details for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, in addition to a new release date.

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal joins The Bear's Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn, with Vanessa Kirby of Napoleon and The Crown fame completing the superhero quartet.

Marvel also shared the new release date of July 25, 2025, two months later than the previously announced date of May 2, 2025.

This marks the second release date change, with the movie originally slated for a launch on November 8, 2024.

The news was shared on Marvel's official X account, which posted: "Happy Valentine’s Day from Marvel’s First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four.

"Marvel Studios' #TheFantasticFour, in theaters July 25, 2025."

Pascal will play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic) with Kirby portraying Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman). Quinn is confirmed for the role of Johnny Storm/the Human Torch with Ebon Moss-Bachrach appearing as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).

The Last of Us leading man was heavily rumoured to be in the running for the Mr. Fantastic role back in November last year.

Cast confirmation now rules out the likes of actors Jodie Comer and Penn Badgley who were also rumoured to be in the running.

Whilst the main four have been cast, details still remain missing on who will portray iconic Marvel villain Victor von Doom. It seems audiences will have to wait a little while longer to find out their answer.

With The Fantastic Four now arriving in July 2025, it suggests that Disney has swapped its release dates round and brought forward the Thunderbolts movie (which previously held the July slot). Thunderbolts is now set for release on May 2, 2025.

The Fantastic Four will be released on July 25, 2025.
