Delta Unveils 5kW DC-DC Power Conversion and Charging Unit for Hydrogen Fuel Cells at Hannover Messe 2023

Hannover Messe, the world’s most important and largest manufacturing exhibition, went live from April 17th to 21st. In line with key topics for this year’s event, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, CO2-neutral production, energy management, hydrogen fuel cells and industry 4.0, Delta showcased relevant power products and solutions, such as the buzzworthy debut of a 5kW DC-DC power conversion and charging unit. The highlighted power and charging products include:

5kW DC-DC Power Conversion and Charging Unit for Hydrogen Fuel Cells

The unit replaces a popular design in the industry that usually comes with five 1kW conversion and charging units, and its efficiency goes up to 93% while the form factor is suitable for limited installation space. It features a multi-phase interleaved boost topology design with 6 phase diagrams to shunt sudden rise currents from hydrogen fuel cells, effectively preventing abrupt current spikes that hydrogen fuel cells may produce that can damage inside parts. The unit allows 36 V to 75 V wide input voltage and converts it to 43.2 V to 57.6 V output voltage for the Li-ion batteries of electrical devices. The RS-485 Modbus protocol and in-built digital signal processor (DSP) allow users to have real-time bi-directional communication with the unit and send the required signals.

MVair 1kW Wireless Charging System

Fully automated factories are becoming an integral part of our daily lives at the outset of the Industry 4.0 era. The M∞Vair 1 kW Wireless Charging System was developed with the aim of expediting the implementation of unmanned factories. The team showed the wireless charging systems' ability to charge within a 20 mm-wide air gap with a live demo, achieving an efficiency rate of 93%. Debuted at ProMat in Chicago in March, its appearance at Hannover Messe in Europe left a deep impression on visitors.

Industrial Power Supplies

  • Din Rail Power Supply Force-GT Series
The ultra-slim power supply Force - GT Series on display included single-phase and three-phase models, providing an output power range of 120 W to 480 W and an operating temperature range of -30°C to 70°C. The Series is perfect for extreme working environments and are suitable for semiconductor equipment, machinery manufacturing, EV charging stations and energy storage systems. Among the products on display were the 480 W / 24 V and 480 W / 48 V models, which are certified with 80 PLUS 115 V Industrial Platinum.

  • Din Rail Power Supply Chrome II Series
The newly-unveiled DIN rail power supply Chrome II series is designed especially for compact cabinets and is ideal for building automation, home security systems and smart meters. The Series features three models with output voltages of 12 V / 24 V / 48 V and a power range of 30 W to 100 W. The double-isolated products are NEC Class 2 and LPS certified and meet the DoE Level VI energy-saving standards and IEC / EN 60335 - 1 for household appliances.

  • Din Rail Power Supply CliQ M Series
Catering to the demand for uninterrupted power systems, the IPSBU presented the CliQ M Series power supply with its DC-UPS and battery modules at the booth. All matched together, the integrated solution is set to reduce production downtime during power failures, making it suitable for industrial robots, building automation and packaging machines. The DC-UPS module features three output current choices of 10 A / 20 A / 40 A and an input voltage range of 18 VDC to 30 VDC.

  • Panel Mount Power Supply PMR Series

The PMR Series features 12 V / 24 V / 36 V / 48 V output voltage choices and an output power range from 150 W to 600 W with a low-profile design of 1 U height for general industrial applications. The Series complies with IEC / EN 60335 - 1 household appliance approvals and conforms to harmonic current IEC / EN 61000 - 3 - 2, Class A and Class D.
