Adults. Eyes hairy.
Head, thorax and abdomen dark fuscous or brown. Forewings dark fuscous and light brown; patterned transversely (with a light brown sub-marginal transverse band); the patterning well marked; reniform defined; orbicular undefined; claviform undefined. Hindwings white; plain to terminally darkened (with a very narrow darkened margin); without a clear discal mark; without transverse lines; exhibiting vein 5. Vein 5 of the hindwings weak; arising nearer to vein 6 than to vein 4. Posterior tibiae without spines.
Living adults found July to September (?).
British representation. 1 species (adventive). Status in Britain alien (larvae recorded on plant bulbs once, in 1936). South-east England; B. crini pancratiii0 (The Kew Arches).
