Jeep Cherokee Integration Dash Kit & Vehicle Harness: The iDatalink Maestro KIT-CHK1 consists of an integration dash kit and vehicle harness designed specifically for select 2014-up Jeep Cherokees (all trim levels, including Sport). In combination with the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module (sold separately) , the KIT-CHK1 lets you replace the factory radio of your 2014-up Jeep Cherokee with a compatible Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Sony, or Pioneer aftermarket head unit equipped with an iDatalink Serial Port.

Factory Amplifier: Retains factory amplifier (if equipped) with amplifier turn-on, speed compensated volume, digital fader, DSP settings, and gain adjustment.
Steering Wheel Controls: Retains factory steering wheel controls with two functions on each button for standard and expanded radio functions.
Climate Control & Vehicle Settings: Climate control & display are offered on the aftermarket radio, as well as access to modify vehicle settings.
Factory Knobs & Buttons: Factory knobs and buttons will continue to operate aftermarket stereo.
Backup Camera w/ Park Assist: Retains the factory backup camera with parking guidelines. Plus, retains park assist chimes and distance display on screen.
USB/Aux Ports: Retains both factory USB (type-A) ports and the one factory Aux (3.5mm) input in 2014-2018 Jeep Cherokees using the included USB/Aux module (not compatible with Jeep Cherokees 2019-up). Your compatible aftermarket head unit will also need to have two rear-panell USB ports, if your Jeep Cherokee has a factory rear USB port.

Is there an alternative to this kit that will allow me to retain Uconnect on my 2017 Jeep Cherokee Limited? From my understanding the Maestro RR2 has the ability to retain Uconnect (Jeep Wrangler). I am a subscriber to Uconnect simply to remote start my vehicle from my Android phone. A feature I am not so sure I am willing to go without. Specially when I am going to spend a couple thousand on a radio upgrade. Thank you and have a nice day.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Can you still turn on/off seat heaters and make adjustments to the climate controls using an aftermarket radio? The only way to with the stock setup is with the factory radio itself - there are no tactile buttons.

As long as you use a Maesteo RR and Maestro head unit you will be able to control your heated seats and all other climate functions.. the only thing that doesn't work is the dual zone sync.. you have to adjust driver and passenger temperature for heat/ac independently

Why do you need the dash piece if you already have the factory 8" display?

This kit is set up for the maestro rr2 so you can use your factory back up camera if you don't programe your radio to your car what happen with mine I took the key out of the car and the jeep would not turn off I had to take the radio out in order for the car to turn off this kit does work amazing

You need this of you are going to replace the factory radio. The uconnect 8.4 is garbage for sound quality especially with aftermarket amplifiers. And before 2018 or 2019 the 8" does not have Android Auto or Apple Carplay in Cherokees
