Best bottle (Belsers Restaurant, Nürtingen): Glass: Sophienwald Bordeaux Unfortunately popped and poured and drunk too cold. Clear, youthful pale golden color. Balanced, muted nose that opened up at the end. On the palate at first quite boring, but with time and temperature it unfolds. Very balanced, fine mineral core, herbaceous and with some very delicate oak. Nice grip and texture. Med+ length. Needs time. 92-93+

PYCM is my favorite white Burg wine producer: reductive style, which is a trade mark, apricot, soft oak, stone, white peach, tropical fruit, melon, great balance and finish. Weekend away with my parents, sister and families.

Attractive PYCM flinty sensation alongside citrus, hazelnut and white flowers. Finessed palate but lacking mid palate substance to rate it higher.
