Apple FIRST 1984 Macintosh 128k [M0001] w/Keyboard, Mouse & 3.5 Drive - Macintosh - With replacement box

// 1984, THE FIRST MAC With the upcoming "fortieth" anniversary of the original Macintosh approaching [JANUARI 2024] … I have a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity for you! Will you be the new owner of a working ORIGINAL "Macintosh 128K", also known as every mac collector's dream? Indeed … I am talking about the legendary 1984 Mac. The Macintosh 128K was the first successful all-in-one desktop personal computer with a graphical user interface, built-in screen, and mouse. It played a pivotal role in establishing desktop publishing as a general office function. It sold for US$2,495 (equivalent to $7,000 in 2022). The Macintosh was introduced by a television commercial entitled "1984" shown during Super Bowl XVIII on January 22, 1984 (directed by Ridley Scott). Long-story-short. A must have for the die-hard Mac-fan. Even more unique is the fact that this is an AMERICAN version (110 volt) – not a European one*. // FREE 230V to 110V CONVERTOR* Non-American buyers will get a free 230V to 110V convertor (included in this bundle)! >> Very important: You can NOT power this mac on a 220 volt power socket. That will ruin the Mac! In Non-American countries a power convertor is needed! // JOBS SIGNATURE UNIQUE to this particular computer are “the engraved signatures” of the original Macintosh team - including the signature of “STEVE JOBS” - inside the CASE. The Macintosh team found the original Macintosh ART - and they saw themselves as ARTISTS. When you open “the case” – (only with special tools) – you understand why. // IMPORTANT – WHY BUY FROM ME? (instead of other sellers) I am a Mac user from way back in the Legacy Era. I offer Vintage Apple computers as I would buy them myself. My admiration for Steve Jobs' legacy is so great that I want the Macs I sell, to stand "the test of time". Furthermore I only sell items I have "passion" for. Hardware-wise, all my sold computers are completely disassembled, (deep) cleaned – and, if necessary, repaired – in order to extend their lifespan. See pictures. // ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST, BATTERY ACID, RECAPPING & REFURBISHING – DUST: the inside of a 30-year-old computer (and keyboard and mouse) looks the same as "the collection-container of a vacuum cleaner" (read: a dust bunny). And as you know "dust" can ruin your electronics; – LEAKS: 30-year-old batteries will someday leak, causing irreversible damage to the computer. The battery is removed (FYI: online you can buy a new 4.5V battery for date/time settings. Please let me know if you need help finding the right battery, however a battery is not required to use this computer). To preserve the computer for the future it is even better to not place a new battery; – BOARD REVISION: both boards (analog + logic) were revised (thus: the non-functioned electrolytic capacitors were replaced). – REFURBISHED: the floppy drive is refurbished. This includes "floppy drive lubrication". Therefore the floppy drive" works like a charm (formatting, reading and writing disks and of-course ejecting*). Usually the "EJECT* mechanism" fails. So the famous paperclip method is NOT needed for this Mac! Thus: SERVICED and totally functional floppy drive. Long-Story Short. Computers from other vendors may look the same on the outside. I can guarantee you that the inside is very different! So if you want to enjoy your investment for as long as possible, choosing "wisely" is advisable. // GERM-FREE "RARE" M0110 KEYBOARD & M0100 MOUSE The Macintosh comes with the accompanying keyboard and mouse. Those objects alone are already worth a fortune on auction websites. The keyboard (and mouse) are completely disassembled and cleaned professionally (see pictures). In my opinion it is my responsibility (as a seller) to provide a Germ-Free keyboard (a 2018 study found that 96% of the keyboards were contaminated with bacteria). So, I think we can agree that nobody wants a nasty, infected keyboard. Extra information: ALL KEYS WORK! (lot of vintage keyboard's don't fully work – this one is "fully repaired")! // WHAT MAKES THIS VINTAGE APPLE EVEN MORE SPECIAL? The Macintosh Plus was the last classic Mac to feature a “telephone cord-like port” - on the front of the device - for the keyboard; as well as the “DE-9 connector” for the mouse (later models would use ADB ports). That makes this Apple Computer extremely RARE and EXCEPTIONAL … and therefore a good investment. FYI: The RARE keyboard and mouse, they alone are worth the bid (check other websites for their prices)! // THIS BUNDLE INCLUDES: – 128K MACINTOSH (all-in-one computer) Model Number: Model M0001 (Made in the USA, Cupertino) – KEYBOARD Model Number: M0110 – DE-9 MOUSE Model Number: M0100 – Including all required genuine Apple cables (FYI: VS power cable); – 230v to 110v convertor for non-american buyers (see pictures) – system 1 & RETRO software on DD floppy disk (including hard-to-find "Steve Jobs" MacPaint pixel-art). // VINTAGE COMPUTER EXPECTATIONS Vintage Macintosh computers that are typically sold are very "yellowed" and have lots of cracks. Except for some normal (after 30-years) tiny imperfections, this MAC is in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition! However, please have realistic expectations when buying a vintage computer. As these are "vintage items", they are being sold as. Normal signs of use and wear. But as an experienced connoisseur I can guarantee that these items are in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition (always keeping in mind their age). The numerous images are part of the meticulous description. Thus: judge yourself! Be aware. All mechanical parts make more noice than you are use to, compared with modern equipment. But this is “normal” behavior. Obviously this is a 30 year old machine. The speed is therefore corresponding. // IMPORTANT – A NOTE ON YELLOWED PLASTICS! Some words on the yellowing. Old computer cases are made of ABS plastics which contain at that time "bromine". The element bromine reacts over the time of years with UV light and causes some (not-always-even) "yellowing"*. Some sellers "Retr0bright" their computers with chemicals. I am totally agains "Retr0brighting", because it causes structural changes in the plastic, it's not permanent – and it devalues historical items! So pay attention when buying retro-computers (alarm bells should ring when the case is to "gray"). Please, if you find little "yellowing" a problem, it is recommended that you do NOT bid on this item. Bytheway: the yellowed plastic is not easy to capture on the photos. Because this computer was located in a clean, smoke-free environment of the university (with little UV light), the plastic has remained quite "gray". // PACKAGING & SHIPPING The 128k bundle is packaged securely and carefully for safe shipment. Moreover, the PLUS bundle is shipped INSURED because of its precious value. Because of the precious content extra attention is paid to the CUSTOM packaging. This extra cost is included in the shipping price. "One More Thing" – Steve Jobs quote Don't miss this unique opportunity. Great opportunities don't come everyday! Let the bidding begin … for this legendary 1984 MACINTOSH. "One More Thing" When in doubt, check my positive customer reviews ;) (… because there are some "copycats" out there who copy my style and pretend to be me). There is only one "VISENTO"! That's me ;)
