Edvard Eriksen - Royal Copenhagen - fine large figurine of "The Little Mermaid" ("Den lille Havfrue") - Porcelain
Royal Copenhagen, founded in Denmark in 1775, is one of the world's oldest porcelain factories.
This charming underglazed porcelain figurine in blue, white, green, cream and beige nuances depicts H.C. Andersen's "The Little Mermaid". This classic model was designed by Edvard Eriksen, who was also responsible for the famous statue in Copenhagen. Inscribed on the rock base "Edvard Eriksen sculp.", the underside is marked with the three RC blue waves, design no.4431 and dated.
The figure is marked as a factory second, although there are no obvious defects - it is in excellent clean condition without cracks, chips or repairs.
A great addition to a Scandinavian porcelain collection.
I pack with great care (see reviews) and send securely with insurance.
