My saving grace for snow, snow and more snow
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As you can see by my big smile, i really like the Snow Joe Snow Thrower (not blower, small point.) It went together rapidly and i was ready to clear my driveway from snow arriving the same day as the new machine. The winter storm left over a foot of snow, dense and heavy snow that would kill me if i had to shovel even a walking path from my garage to the street. As several reviewers have noted the snow chute will blow off the top so snow shoots straight up all around you. The problem is they have only one screw to secure the snow chute to the rotating ring. The simplest fix is put another screw through the base of the snow chute and into the ring. But you have to be careful to use a short screw so you don't screw the chute in the top of the machine. Since I added the second screw I've had no problems with the machine. In my snapshot taken after I'd cleared the driveway of over a foot of snow, heavy and wet snow. In the manual they suggest an easy trick to getting the most from your labors. Instead of just pushing it through the snow, you angle along and push in and pull back so the machine so it works hard moving lots of snow and rests a little when you pull it back. it creates a zig-zag pattern behind your path. So although the snow towered over the little snow thrower, i push deep into the snow and weaken the wall so it crumbles down and i kept doing it over and over. and the photo of the Snow Joe in front the wall of snow it left at the edge of my driveway shows how well it works in even deep snow. The week after I got the snow thrower I had to move three or four inches of fresh snow off my driveway almost every other day. And it took little more than a half-hour to do it. I also like the low weight of the machine so if I need to I can pick it up and store it deeper into my garage. And you really can't beat the price, even when it isn't on a one-day sale.

It’s ok
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Delivery was fast received it just in time for the snow storm we had here. It work well the 1st day light clean snow. 2nd day we had more snow the chute kept coming of or the snow was blowing through the slot to secure the chute was a bit annoying issue and would cause the snow to blow in your face. ( not a great feeling in freezing weather). Having a cord an a larger driveway it get in the way at. 3day some issue with the chute not as bad as day 2. Still not sure about keeping it. Though it better than shoveling but the chute issue an issue. Its easy to use an put togetherness got it on sale which wasn’t bad.

Works well enough, but about 8 inches is its limit
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this snow blower twice now - both times with about 8 inches of snow - and it got the job done. The second time I used it, the snow was heavier, though, and it did struggle at times, and I conked it out trying to get through about 10 inches at the bottom of my driveway that the snowplow left for me. Now, this is a corded electric snow blower you have to put together yourself, and you need to buy an outdoor rated extension cord separately. I bought a 50 foot 4 gauge cord, but you can get by with a 6 gauge or maybe an 8 gauge. It's a bit of a hassle dealing with the cord while snow blowing, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Electric snow thrower
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instruction manual not user friendly. Lucky I'm a DIYer. I reverse the instruction in putting the handle parts. Turning on the snow thrower should be easier but it turned on quickly. Otherwise good price for this snow thrower. Can't wait for some snow for the true test

Throwing Snow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works for what it is. Saved time and my back by not having to shovel everything. First one I got was missing a piece however (manufacturing error?). I had to get it exchanged, but it wasn’t that big of a hassle.

Looks good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can't say much about it as we just got it and haven't had a lot of snow. Put it together and looks like it will do the job. We also have 2 other Joe products and are very pleased with them.

Good but not great
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This snow blower and me have a true love hate relationship. I think the unit is built well and comes at a great price. It is best for small amounts of snow I would say 6 inches and less. I live in western New York and we can get way more snow than that so it isn’t always useful for our winter storms. I have one one huge gripe with this unit and that is it’s overall height. I am 6 foot 2 and I feel like this unit is built for someone who is 5 foot 6 max height. I have to bend over so much to use this that it is much more fatiguing to use than it should be.

Q: QuestionHow difficult is this to put together before use. How long will it take and can it be done by one weak female. Thank you in advance.
Asked by Danica.
- A:Answer To assemble the Snow Joe Snow Thrower you will have to put the three sections of the handle together, made easier by using wingnuts so you don't need a screwdriver. Next you will have to assemble the chute and mount it on the snow thrower's plastic, only fits one way ring on top to direct the snow you're throwing. It has one screw to attach it to the rotating top of the snow thrower. And away you go. Check my review for some operational tips and a suggested fix for a snow chute issue you may encounter. Athough i might be a bit odd, but i actually enjoy using it.

Q: QuestionI am a 5’2” 78 yr old woman . How difficult is this to push since it is not self propelled?
Asked by VErmonter.
- A:Answer Depends more on the type and depth of the snow being cleared. The heavier the snow the harder to push, however, if you allow the machine to bite into the snow at its own pace pushing is much easier. It actually sort of pulls itself into the snow, Light fluffy snow is no problem depending on how deep the snow is. 8-10 inches is good max depth for the machine. But the machine is not that heavy.
