THE GOAT
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FINALLY SMT5 came to Switches and NA on the same date as Jpn. Good: -The gameplay and battle mechanics are top notch and the most refined version in the series - Demon models and unique animations for all 300+ demons in unreal engine 5 - Interested story for the majority of the game (at least at the start) - Good post game content - Great collectables in the Premium edition Bad: - Relying on dampening items (look it up) to get through Hard mode boss encounters - Unique skills cannot be transferred to demons to the MC - Story falls flat later on

Another great SMT game to add to the franchise
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SMT fans rejoice, it's another excellent RPG in the franchise. Currently in the middle of playing this game, but so far, it's a good one. Fans will be familiar with the mechanics and the demon summoning as it makes a return in this game. It wouldn't really be a SMT game without it, really. Press turn system, demon fusion & miracles (aka the app system from SMT4 & SMT4: Apocalypse). It's all there. What seems to be new (to me, at least) is that there is more emphasis on exploration as it gives more of that open-world feel (especially when you first met your navigator). In addition, you mostly engage enemies on your terms, not by random battles. Graphics are beautiful, but the FPS does seem to fluctuate. Still definitely tolerable though, in my opinion. However, after playing quite a bit, I just seemed to forget about it and was more focused on the game itself. Music is pretty good ranging from sort of ambience-like to jazz rock fusion mix. A lot of quality of life features like auto-heal, fast travel, return to save point from wherever you are, one-stop shop, etc. I feel like this is a good starting point for those new to SMT. The game does feel easier than other SMT games I've played (I played SMT3 Nocturne, SMT4, and SMT4: Apocalypse), but maybe it gets harder late game. If you like RPGs that is loosely similar to Pokemon games, then you'll probably like this one. Less emphasis on collecting monsters, and more emphasis on party-building. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Shape the world and break free from the cycle!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shin Megami Tensei V (Nintendo Switch) What an incredible experience. This is the first time I actually get a game on release day and play through it exclusively until done. A massive upgrade from the previous entries. Great story, pretty good characters (kinda 2D unfortunately), incredible selection of demons/gods/angels to collect/fuse. Graphics were almost unbelievable for a switch game, to see how far the series has gone, game looks absolutely gorgeous. Even in handheld the game performed excellent and still looked phenomenal, definately worth the wait (game was announced back in 2017!) However with all the improvements, i wish they wouldve kept some of the mechanics from SMT 3/4, demon fusion skill selection shouldve been kept. and they kind of watered down the alignment paths to the point that you get to select the path you want to follow at the end of the game instead of having your actions actually affect the outcome of the game. All in all, i give this a 9/10, one of my favorite in the Switch for sure, definately recommend! I bought the steel book version on release day, then i bought a second copy to give to my brother for christmas, and i was lucky enough to get a hold of the premium edition through Bestbuy about 2 weeks ago (Dec 11).

Another great Switch RPG & a cool Collector's item
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like the Persona series, this game will be right up your alley. Another great entry in a series of RPGs that have been around since the 90s. This may be the best one yet with a deep combat and monster system, fantastic story, and for the switch, amazing graphics. The Premium edition also comes with some nice accessories like a double disc soundtrack, a smallish backpack, artbook/demon guide and steel book. The only negative is that is is a limited edition that is already sold out everywhere so you might be able to find it.

Fall of Man SMTV
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of my favorite Switch games! The game itself is very good and I enjoyed it quite a lot. The combat definitely mixes things up if you’re a traditional RPG fan. It’s not exactly for everyone so I would look into it deeper online to see if the themes, story (it is brief or just very minimal compared to most RPGs) and combat difficulty is something you would enjoy or like to try. I’d say definitely worth a shot just be open to something new or different if you’ve never played an SMT game before and have only played traditional RPGs like final fantasy or dragon quest for example.

An addition to the switch library that stands out
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't help but express the sense of scale this game gives already. Areas are really fleshed out. The combat system is vastly improved upon compared to past games in the series as well, with the key difference of course being the Nahobino's abilities and the Realm of Shadows; which really adds an extra level of strategy that keeps battles fresh. If you're looking for a dungeon crawler that gives a challenge from the start, this is the one for you. No awkward difficulty scaling like I've had with some other RPGs I have played. The dub so far is really solid as well, and the music is phenomenal. Atlus did a great job on it. Graphics-wise as far as switch games go, this is the best I've seen. Physical game aside, the Collector's Edition's extras were worth for me. Everything from the sling bag to the Demon Compendium book is of exceptional quality. I was surprised that the 2 disc sountrack actually comes in its own plastic case the size of the steelbook case itself; as opposed to the smaller square plastic cases that are the usual standard.

Another successful entry into one the series!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yet another amazing entry into the Megami Ten game series. I would put this one above 3, but about on par with 4. You can easily spend 200 hours trying to hunt down, and get all of the different demons on your side in the original "Gotta Catch'em All" game (it predates Pokemon by almost 10 years). Plenty of game play, and new interesting ideas presented to make you continue wanting to see more of the story.

Q: QuestionDid this already get sold out? 6/23/2021 question
Asked by Mesane.
- A:Answer Yes, on the day the preorders went live, and the days after, each listing (GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart) sold out within 15 minutes. As of now, no copies are available other than those on eBay, but Atlus themselves stated that they were working to get more stock, so I’d recommend keeping tabs on stock in order to get one.
