Juan Pablo Montoya is not done chasing his dream of adding another Indianapolis 500 win to his list of racing accomplishments.

Montoya, 46, and the Arrow McLaren SP team announced on Tuesday that Montoya is returning to Indianapolis in 2022. The two-time Indianapolis 500 winner is slated to race in both the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500.

Montoya is teaming with Pato O'Ward and Felix Rosenqvist for what is now a three-car effort for Arrow McLaren SP at Indy. Montoya will be sponsored by Mission Foods.

“I’m excited to return to Indianapolis with Arrow McLaren SP and Mission, to once again compete in a race that holds a special place in my heart—the Indianapolis 500," said Montoya, who finished 21st in the road course race and ninth at last year's Indy 500 for Arrow McLaren SP. "I had a great experience with the team last year and look forward to building on the progress we made in 2021.

"I think we have a real shot at competing at the front of the field and challenging for the win.”

Montoya will be seeking to qualify for his seventh Indy 500. He won the 500 in 2000 for Chip Ganassi Racing and in 2015 for Team Penske.

“We’re delighted to have both Juan Pablo and Mission Foods back for another Indianapolis 500," said Zak Brown, McLaren Racing CEO. "Juan Pablo is an institution in motorsport, with two Indianapolis 500 victories and an impressive Formula 1 career with multiple wins for McLaren. He adds experience that really benefits our team, giving us another driver with the potential to win anytime he steps into the car.”
