Arguably one of the most beloved compact nameplates in the world, the Honda Civic soldiers on in an automotive reality where everything revolves around crossovers, SUVs, and trucks nowadays.
Things were a bit different when Honda launched the original Civic back in 1972 – more than half a century ago, it was all right to consider it a subcompact because people didn't seem to need that much space. However, the Japanese automaker did compensate before and during the times when it moved to a compact-sized platform with loads of body style options – two-door fastback sedan or coupe, three-door hatchback, four-door saloon or fastback, and five-door hatchback, liftback, or station wagon.

The two-door coupe was arguably one of the most beloved iterations, and it lasted from 1993 to 2020 when Honda decided it only needed the regular sedan and five-door liftback to get all compact things done – including in Civic Type R form. Well, that may bode well for the current Honda lineup, where the Civic sedan, Si sedan, and Civic Hatchback start layered at $24k, $29k, and $25k, respectively, but the rumor mill could easily argue that's not the case for Honda enthusiasts who would very much appreciate the return of the classic two-door coupe body style.

Naturally, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has no qualms in supporting that, and recently, the good folks from the Real Automotive and AutomagzTV channels on YouTube have some AI-assisted CGI thoughts about the next evolution of the Honda Civic – in Coupe form. Well, that's something to be proud of – if it ever happens in the real world, that is. Unfortunately, there are no signals from the OEM department, so let's take all these renderings with a grain of salt, as they are probably merely wishful thinking.

The resident pixel master from Real Automotive doesn't change much of the looks at the front, where the proposed unofficial design project for a Civic Coupe is a bit sportier yet also luxurious thanks to the pixel-like LED headlights and the bigger air intakes. On the other hand, things change drastically, beginning with the B pillar, where there isn't much glass behind the front doors. Instead, the AI-assisted design almost makes you wonder if this Civic Coupe isn't adept at mid-engine setups. Probably not, though.

The rear is a lot more futuristic than Honda's current Civic sedan and Hatchback, and you could argue it just needs a wing. You can also dream of it as a Civic Coupe Type R. Moving to the work done by the CGI expert at AutomagzTV; this unofficial design project is much more adept at living the ritzy lifestyle of a compact 'grand tourer.' At the same time, the other was a much more straightforward sports car. So, which is your favorite and would love to see in real life?
