Hey AZ,

I'm trying to track down an electrical fault in my S5. I think one of the modules or relays could be bad? I've already checked the fuses and they are all good. Does anyone have a wiring diagram available for this platform? Are all the "J modules" connected to the central control module located under the driver dash?

There are too many to list lol. The majority seem to be communication errors with the sensors. I've purchase the vehicle guide form AllDataDIY and will need to sort though all the electrical schematics. Just kind of overwhelming as there are so many errors thrown on different modules. I doubt that so many can simultaneously fail like that?

Yeah, I know what you mean by there being too many. When I posted logs the other week I had to strip out anything that wasn't fault related.

Have you checked your battery level yet in VCDS? Based on most of these showing as intermittent, I wonder if you maybe have a battery issue.

You can check your battery level on VCDS through MODULE 19 (CAN-GETAWAY). Look at groups 18, 19 and 20 under that screen to get a good idea of your battery's current health.

There is a TSB regarding wiring harness issues on some models. For the ones that have this, the wires can create open circuts in various modules. It occurs in a section of the harness on drivers side (US). I got the TSB specifics from ErWin Audi. If I can find mine, I will post it for you. Anyway, just a thought....I wish you luck....I know how frustrating finding electrical issues can be.

Good call jaypilot75! After clearing the initial DTC's and re scanning more than half of the errors are gone! Please see the existing errors below. There still seems to be some sort of communications error going on. I will need to double check the positioning for all the fuses...

Yeah, I know what you mean by there being too many. When I posted logs the other week I had to strip out anything that wasn't fault related.

Have you checked your battery level yet in VCDS? Based on most of these showing as intermittent, I wonder if you maybe have a battery issue.

You can check your battery level on VCDS through MODULE 19 (CAN-GETAWAY). Look at groups 18, 19 and 20 under that screen to get a good idea of your battery's current health.

Ahhh gotcha. Yes, these cars are very high maintenance...

Not so much very high maintenance but this type of thing is typical of a data bus problem, you lose one device on the bus through a short or a ground and it drags down that whole bus with all the components on it.
The components may still be working perfectly ok but because the main/central computer is no longer communicating, it flags them as faulted.

Did you manage to get a schematic diagram of the CAN bus? If you do, mark off each failed component and see if they are along a single wire.What you could do is work through your cleared down list and go to each component and disconnect the bus wire until you find which one is dragging it down. You'd be looking to disconnect the modules one by one, clear out the faults and run the check again, hopefully and eventually it should flag up just the disconnected module and nothing else. Time consuming but electrical faults usually are.

Thanks for the insight JamesRS5. Yes, i purchased the vehicle repair guide from AllDataDIY which documents all electrical diagrams. Very handy. So i was playing around with the fuse box yesterday and noticed that I was missing fuses and or they were in the incorrect location...

Can anyone clarify which direction the fuse order should be read? The vehicle diagram depicts bottom to top while the panel in the car indicated a top down approach. Very confusing...

Unless you got the car new....i would put too much faith in the panel...it could be a replacement. I only trust the Bently manual or ErWin Audi online. Sorry for the late reply. Been super busy... First off, THANK YOU jaypilot75 for taking the time to go out and take pics for me! Appreciate it much brotha!

Also, yeah the fuses read from bottom up...so 1 is the first slot ON THE BOTTOM of the stack...anyways i got all the faults sorted! Turned out some of the fuses were in the incorrect locations causing all sorts of strange faults...
