I do like playing around ahaha as long as ODIS is capable of this I'll feel more confident.

I just wish there were more audi specialists up here in the north west of the UK. It's a nightmare. My local used to be Keith Edwards who were incredible but now I'm an hour away and don't have access to ODIS sadly.

If you have time, search Keith Edwards S1 on Google and see why I trust that man ahaha

Default Solved!

Good news - Awesome GTI in Manchester completed the job without a problem.

The basic settings for the Suspension/ headlights downloaded through ODIS must have been fine, and the copy protection removed without issue either but they were confident about that anyway so I guess that wasn't surprising.

No arguments about supplying the parts myself and all works perfectly. Finally no fault codes on the dash after such long time having these stuck there!

Thanks for all advice!

Long story short I THINK my Dampening Control Module is water damaged, and I'm not sure which unit it is in the boot behind the Rear RHS flap or how to remove it, or if a new one would need coding in.

I have an S5 Cabriolet (2009 reg) I lowered the Car about 3 or 4 years ago on KW Variant 1 Coilovers and purchased the cancellation modules at the same. They've always worked perfectly up until January this year.

Over winter I SORN the car as I've had it painted and don't want Grit and stone chips everywhere, so it sat on the drive for around 6 months stationary.

When I came to start the car again after winter, I instantly got a Suspension Fault light and a Headlight adjuster warning light on the dashboard. I though this would be due to the harsh winter temperatures damaging one of the KW Cancellation modules. I found a fault in 'Rear Left', changed it after paying £100 for a new one, and nothing happened. Both faults still existed.

Every now and then I started the car, and occasionally the warning wouldn't come up, but eventually it was every single time, so something isn't right.

Come to yesterday and my speakers stopped working completely, but the MMI and everything still working fine, including bluetooth and buttons etc. After stopping for a brew at the mother in laws, got back in the car and the whole MMI stopped working... No screen, no lights on the controls below the gearstick. Oh dear.

Got home and did some investigating and to my dismay I found a LOT of water in the boot and I think I've determined where the rain is getting in. The Boot floor had puddles, but behind both flaps was particularly wet... RHS being where a lot of modules and control fuses are found of course. You can see a lot of green down at the bottom around a loom indicating there's a bit of corrosion somewhere... FML.

I had a friend read the cars fault codes and a few stuck out to me. The Headlight Regulation fault shows it's there because of 'No Signal/ Communication with Electronic Dampening Control Module". This also shows for 'Dashboard' and 'Gateway' as you can see in the attached text document.

I've got hold of all of the service documentation online but it doesn't include the Cabriolet. I'm assuming it's very similar, but this control unit is shown in the boot of the car on the RHS. I had a look in the boot this morning and I'm not sure which module is the Dampening Control one, but I've put an arrow to the one I think it is based on googling the Module. (I rushed to get the pic this morning so didn't get the code from the side of each part in there sorry!) Pics below

This is what I think is the control module, after googling. Need to check the code after work!

So, what do you think? Could the source of this 9 month old problem be the Dampening control module rather than a suspension/ headlight adjuster component? Seems likely to me. Just need to know how to get it out in order to check! If I purchase a new one, will it need coding? As I've found info in the Service manual that states this component doesn't have protection like MMI and other Modules in the car, which would be a godsend! Though this removal and installation guide from the manual doesn't look like anything I've got in mine.

Thanks all for any advice you can give, this has been killing me for the past 9 months!
Spoiler

Dealing with the Suspension Fault and Headlight adjuster warning lights can be quite challenging, especially after a period of winter hibernation. It's frustrating that changing the module didn't resolve the issue. Now, the added complication of the speakers and MMI system acting up adds another layer of concern. Electrical glitches can be intricate to pinpoint. Considering the complexity, seeking professional diagnostics might be worthwhile to uncover any underlying issues.
