The Rolls MP222 Studio Pro Preamp is a professional, two channel microphone preamp designed for use with both large diaphragm and standard studio mics. Each channel of the MP222 has front and back XLR transformer balanced mic inputs for pristine audio quality and low noise, switchable 48v phantom power to insure maximum performance from your best studio mics, a 30db pad for input level adjustment, a 180 degree phase switch, an 80Hz low cut switch for low frequency filtering, and a variable output level control. The output section provides both individual channel XLR outputs and a dual 1/8 inch stereo output for connection to a computer sound card or mini stereo input. Both outputs are switchable between mic/line level.

If you need a device that allows you high-quality on-hold music for your business telephone system, this is what you need. I'm sure there are tons of other applications for this device, but for my client's on-hold message there really isn't anything else on the market that does that this does - at this price point.
I bought this pre-amp because my wife and I cohost a podcast, and I bought an additional Shure SM7B, which required I get a pre-amp with two inputs. I tried this one and, well...it *works*, but the sound is very thin and hollow. If you have a baritone/bass voice, this is not the preamp for you; it really takes the richness away.
I expected better from Rolls. I placed SD cards and USB sticks which contained music (and which played on my other media players with no problem). This machine would not play them. The display was so poorly designed that it was impossible to decipher what the numbers meant. I sent it back pronto!
