Product Description

Some things never change and for us, that's good news. For example, Mario's archrival, Wario he's looking good on the Game Boy Advance, but he's still the same money-crazed hooligan who starred in some of the greatest handheld platformers of all time. This time around, the story of a golden pyramid is enough to send the big blowhard racing off to the nearest jungle. Sure enough he finds the big brick triangle, but before he can collect the loot he'll have to undergo a brain- and body-bending series of challenges. Four guardians stand jealously over the four sections of the pyramid. Wario will either have to defeat each guardian or activate a switch and escape before time runs out. No longer invincible, Wario will have to replenish his health meter by gathering pieces of heart. Wario will have to undergo even more dramatic transformations before the big showdown with the head honcho of the golden pyramid.

Warioland 4 for GBA
5 Stars
Warioland 4 for GBA
The Warioland series has been very popular for Nintendo since the original Game Boy days. In 2001, Nintendo released Warioland 4 on the Game Boy Advance as one of the first games for that system. And what a game it is: a side scroller, action adventure romp where he looks for treasure once again. You control Wario as he explores a pyramid with different sections and stages. The goal for each stage is to find a key and escape the stage to open up others areas. Along the way, you can collect all kinds of treasure while picking up (or buying) power ups to defeat enemies and/or assist you in getting through the stage. You can find scattered CDs to open up the sound room and listen to various music tracks and you also open up mini games to play as you complete stages. The PROS: The game is very challenging but not to the point of frustration. Every stage is a puzzle in which you have to figure out how to reach the key and then escape before your time is up. Everything from the presentation, graphics and sounds fit the outrageous antics of Wario as he does what he does best: plunder for coins and treasure. With more then 20 stages to explore, this game will keep you busy as you find everything while having fun at the same time. And when you are done with the stages, you can play mini games to get power ups or extra lives. The CONS: This would have been a fun multiplayer title but sadly that didn't make it into this fun. This is solely a 1 player romp but the game can store up to 2 saves so other people can play and save their progress without touching your saved game. Other than that, there aren't any flaws. This is one of the best games to get for the GBA so grab yourself a copy anyway you can. It's challenging but not hard to make you quit, looks and plays great and will keep you busy for awhile (especially if you want to reach the 100% completion status.) I highly recommend this title so it should be in your GBA collection ASAP.

This game is amazing, especially to me, because I did not like Wario Land and the Mario games have been done to death. Wario, who is a bigger bullying version of Mario offers a whole new game to play. Rather than Mario who jumps on enemies, leaps to punch blocks above him and collects mushrooms and fire flowers to power-up; Wario uses the direct method, ramming straight through enemies, blocks and collects hearts for energy. You can even pick up enemies to throw them. So what makes this game different than a Mario game? Because a Mario game was simple, where you go right and find the end of a level. With Wario's land, each level is a miniature maze, where you enter a level through a portal where you must then find four pieces of a stone, which are scattered in the level, then you must find the key. They key is unique, because they key is a bird who's beak is the key and it actually flies behind you and bigger enemies can steal the key and hold it hostage. You can leave the level, but the key is needed to get to the next level. To top it all off, you can't just finish a level, you must find and activate a bomb! The bomb then sets a timer at the top of the screen for you to exit the level by. Each level is very detailed and the graphics are completely different, such as a Desert, a Haunted House, a Lake, a Raining Swamp, Paradise, and a Sunflower Field to name a few. To make sure you don't get bored, there are coins, jewels and gold to collect, in which with all of this cash, you can pay to play mini games, like Roulette, Homerun Derby and Wario Hop. The graphics are great and Wario is full of tricks so there is great gameplay.

This is about the very best game ever devised for the Game Boy Advance Sp . And the GameBoy Advance is a wonderful medium..so very portable and pocketable!

Everyone should have kept theirs, not traded it in but parents did not play the games and the kids were too young to realize what they had...so they no longer have them. Or they lost the charging cord. Too bad.

This is a beautiful game artwise. And learning to succeed...Too bad the picture on the cover is so dreadful. Wario is depicted as being greedy but this is a terrific collection of wonderful games. There are many, many challenges at different levels.

I had to learn them all myself since our grandkids live four states away.
I am 75.

Oh, to have had this as a kid. So I play it still. I have more than one cartridge, bought many of them used, of course, since they are no longer apparently madeat a store in another town but now they have discontinued them everywhere. It is fascinating to see where some previous young owner gave up. Too young. There is a Super Hard level that most of them probably never even knew about!

Great, great fun and developmentally a wonder!

Every time I put it in my gba it resets all the file saves. So I either have to do a full playthrough or play the game once and restart every time I turn it back on. I've tried getting a return label but due to covid I was not able to go out and ship it. Please help
