    I bought this product because wasn't confident the AC to DC transformer that comes with a Tablo DVR is quality. When a transformer goes out, the device it powers no longer properly functions and with a DVR that means you miss recordings.

    This transformer is physically larger and just seems to be of a better build quality. It's the same voltage and barrel connector that Tablo uses for their 4th gen (and apparently 3rd gen but I can't verify), and this one has a slightly higher current rating but that's fine with DC transformers.

    It works well and I have confidence the Tablo will properly function for many years using this transformer.
