I was exited to learn about smart thermostats being available for baseboard heaters. Finally! I have traditional wiring at my place so unable to use the competition, which has a lackluster design. Sinope makes installation easy - less than 10 minutes for install and set up! Screen has a sleek display, easy to adjust settings on the thermostat and within the Neviweb app. I love the “away” mode, it makes it a quick tap to lower settings while away without changing one’s schedules. Sinope has responsive tech support who help answer questions and guide to resources online to make use even easier! I ended up purchasing one for each room after seeing how it works in my living space! Time to upgrade, get rid of your mechanical knob now!

-Cardboard minimalist box package, no plastic bag, no foam. No blister pack to hurt my hand. Good for environment
-2 wire easy install. Pairing to Android, internet is painless.
-Finish material felt like good quality
-I bought 3. Amazon easy returns for 1
The not so good:
-Naviweb based, hope they have longevity and continue to serve (by their server) for years to come.
-Plastic casing of thermostat is not snowy white, I have gray colour walls, so the off white colour stood out as beigy white
-Not a deal breaker, but the pre set quarter hour timer interval (ie. 8:15 8:30 8:45 9:00 only, no 8:09 start 8:35 finish) is old school, it reminds me of the 1980s era Honeywell programmable stats. It is 2020 already!!!!! Hope a software update can fix that.
-Operating manual is zero, nada, none. At the very minimal, there should be explanation of the terminology they use, like 'Auto Bypass'?. Though it is quite intuitive for me, it would be hard to work with for a non-technical person.
The return it:
The temperature sensor is consistently reading a higher than actual room temperature. It drew my attention when I installed the first stat, it read 23C room temperature right away, and I knew it can't be right. I waited for an hour and setup a digital thermometer beside the stat set at 20C, thermometer said 17C and felt like too cold to be 20C. It has a 3C variance! This one is not acceptable and returned, which is quite painless with Amazon if you do that within the short return window .
Installed the other 2, both are unscientifically tested to be overstated by 1 to 1.5C. Guess this is within their tolerance perimeter and err towards energy conservation, not a deal breaker, I am keeping them and learn to live with it, ie set the temp to 21C to get 20C actual room temperature.
