well i ordered "used" of course and i had to have this since i think halo its one of the best halo games ever made. Played it on 2010 and havent stopped playing. Now i can finally play it with this controller. Thanks oh and shipping was fast

If you're looking for another boring X-Box 360 controller, look somewhere else. If , however, you're looking for a controller with a little bit of 'flair', and you're a Halo fan, this is what you want to grab.

There's really not much that differs this controller from the standard X-Box 360 controller, except for look. The functionality is the same, the buttons and layout are the same, the size is the same. It's the same thing, except it's specifically manufactured with a Halo design.

What better way to differentiate between controllers? This stops the whole "is this my controller" guess when at a friend's house, or even in multi-player scenarios, since this one controller will always standout.

Oh, and the bonus avatar isn't too shabby either.

You know you want it, get out there and get this controller!!

Since my rage caught up to me, I had to buy another controller. My controller was a white one. I wanted something cooler and I am a big fan of Halo. This controller was pretty cheap used and it shipped fast. I congratulate the seller for their great job. The controller looks great! It has a smooth matte finish like the regular controller. It does not come with a play n charge kit or a transforming d-pad like the Fable 3 one. It is still great at the price I got it for though. This would have been rated lower of it was full price($60). The Xbox home button is like a mirror though as you can see your reflection in it. I do like that. Overall, it is a great looking replacement and for a great price. It is not much different but it looks awesome. I did not get a banshee avatar item so that is not a factor here.

I'll admit I have the worst luck when it comes to getting new controllers. You would think the color does not matter, but I swear it does. I usually have good luck with the white controllers but I don't want white. I got a red controller that shuts off any time you move the controller to much (ie. driving on Tiger Woods.) I bought a black controller that randomly shuts off and the down arrow on the d-pad also functions as a left arrow. I returned it and got another black controller which did the exact same thing! That being said, this controller functions perfectly. All buttons are perfect and I can drive on Tiger without disconnecting the controller. It also looks great if your a Halo fan, which I am.

I bought this controller about 6 months ago and the whole look of the controller looked very nice BUT when I first received it the down button on the D-Pad was not as responsive you had to put some pressure into it to get it working, so today (18JAN12) the right thumb stick was unresponsive, and I take very good care of my products but the controller ended up failing on me. So if your looking for looks go ahead and get this controller but if your looking for reliability do your self a favor and never buy anything from Microsoft.

I received my Halo reach 360 controller and to my surprise it did not work at all. Joysticks were messed up and unresponsive. Plus the RB doesn't work at all! For 40 bucks at worse I expected the joysticks to lack the soft supports for the thumbs. Which they do btw, but for the price I expected the controller to work and have a proper battery pack in it.

Do not buy this product it is nothing more than a scam.

First off, I'm a fan, but I'll try to maintain moderation.

Aesthetically, it's amazing. Metallic grey with black accents on the top and bottom, with black triggers and battery cover.
With a few well-painted lines it gives a feeling of an actual piece of equipment. If only the face buttons were all black...
In my hands, it's another different beast. The paint is matte-finished so it feels smooth and dry.
And dare I say the D-pad feels a bit better. I was able to navigate the dashboard left and right without going up/down by accident.
The case is somewhat reusable. The clamshell is good by itself but it's just as quick to put the cardboard and outer shell back in.
It's so pretty I'm gonna have to wait three more weeks to finally use it!

I bought this controller for my husband's birthday; he loves Halo, and it has tons of positive reviews. This was about $20 more than the standard controllers and I have to say we were very disappointed. The design is nice, but nothing extraordinary, and someone not familiar with Halo Reach specifically wouldn't even realize it was special. It functions exactly like other controllers. I do admit that I did not understand the "free banshee" was for the xbox avatar - I thought it was an extra IN THE GAME. That would have been worth paying more; to get a special weapon or something during game play. But a prop to fly around your "mini-me" before you begin playing? Meh. My husband hasn't even bothered loading it - he doesn't spend enough time with his avatar - he'd rather be playing the game.

Overall, only recommended for the die-hard Halo fan who has to have everything to do with the Haloverse. Others are better off spending the extra $20 on another game to play while we wait for the next iteration of the Halo franchise.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, and it's been almost perfect ever since, the artwork is sublime yet cool, and the price was very reasonable. The only issue I had was that the right trigger tends to squeak, which I have noticed in a previous post. Short of disassembling the entire controller, the only effective solution is to add a little WD40, which cleared the problem right up for me. Be careful with application though, with all the sensitive electronics inside it you could damage it.

The Xbox 360 Halo Reach controller is a great purchase if you're a fan of the series and have some extra money to spend. In terms of the feel and the shape of the controllers itself, it is like a normal official Microsoft controller. Keep in mind that if you're thinking of getting this controller it is just for the aesthetic appeal itself and nothing else, but nonetheless it feels very personalized and unique.

The only drawbacks I have with the product is that it does not come with its own charge and play kit which is a disappointment for the price you have to pay to get this. When you do get a charge kit be sure to get the black one (the white battery looks terrible with it).
