Were Atlantis and Lemuria factual places?
Who built the pyramids and for what purpose?
How advanced was the technology of ancient cultures?

All this and more is covered in
Exposed, Uncovered, & Declassified: Lost Civilizations & Secrets of the Past--the latest in the all-original series that is already sparking lively debate.

Erich von Däniken, best-selling author of
Chariots of the Gods, examines the Egyptian pyramids, studying their astronomical implications and what message they were meant to convey. Thomas G. Brophy, PhD, focuses on the mysterious Nabta Playa site in southern Egypt and its connection to African history.

Intrepid explorer of ancient America Frank Joseph covers archeological scandals and attempts to suppress evidence, including the Smithsonian's "loss" of Maya skulls discovered in the Aleutian Islands. Researcher Steven Sora, author of The Lost Colony, delves into evidence that Scotland's Picts originated in North America and were connected to the ancient Micmac tribe of the Americas.

Philip Coppens of the History Channel's
Ancient Aliens explores an ancient Celtic network of roads that may be connected to a 4,000-year-old land-based reproduction of Atlantis. Scholar and mystery explorer Oberon Zell-Ravenheart brings together the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Life, the great deluge, and the sinking of Lemuria.

Marie D. Jones & Larry Flaxman (
11:11: The Time Prompt Phenomenon) explore what ancient civilizations knew about sound and resonance, and how they may have used them to build megaliths and pyramids, and achieve altered states. Journalist Nick Redfern reveals the U.S. government's abiding interest in our ancient past, religious mysteries, and enigmatic artifacts.

Evidence of these ancient mysteries is everywhere--if you know what to look for. Whether you're a believer, a skeptic, or somewhere in between,
Exposed, Uncovered, and Declassified: Lost Civilizations & Secrets of the Past is sure to entertain and educate.

About the Author

Michael Pye has been an acquisitions editor for New Page Books since 2003. He developed a healthy appetite for the unexplained by watching far too many episodes of In Search Of hosted by Leonard Nimoy after school instead of doing his homework, which turned him into a reader of books on the strange and unexplained. He earned a BA in English from Southern Connecticut State University.

Kirsten Dalley has functioned in various editorial capacities at New Page Books since 2004. She is coauthor of The Nightmare Encyclopedia, along with Jeff Belanger. She graduated from Columbia University with a BA in comparative literature, which has proven to be of use in both her career and her leisure pursuits (reading fiction and riding sportbikes).

von Däniken is arguably the most widely read and most copied nonfiction author in the world. He published his first (and best known) book, Chariots of the Gods, in 1968. The worldwide bestseller was followed by 40 more books, including the recent bestsellers The Gods Never Left Us, Eyewitness to the Gods, Twilight of the Gods, History Is Wrong, Evidence of the Gods, Remnants of the Gods, and Odyssey of the Gods. His works have been translated into 28 languages and have sold more than 65 million copies. Several have also been made into films.

Von Däniken's ideas have been the inspiration for a wide range of television series, including the History channel's hit Ancient Aliens. His research organization, the A.A.S.R.A./legendarytimes.com (Archaeology, Astronautics & SETI Research Association), comprises laymen and academics from all walks of life. Internationally, there are about 10,000. members. He lives in Switzerland but is an ever-present figure on the international lecture circuit, traveling more than 100,000 miles a year.

Philip Coppens is an internationally renowned investigative journalist, author, and regular contributor to magazines such as Atlantis Rising and NEXUS Magazine. He is labeled a skeptic by the believers, and a believer by the skeptics--a unique position which makes him a well-recognized voice of reason. He is the author of 11 books, including The Ancient Alien Question and The Lost Civilization Enigma, and is one of the leading contributors to The History Channel's popular series, Ancient Aliens. He lives in Edinburgh and Los Angeles.

This is not the first time I have read any of these things. It does however make me shake my head to acknowledge that those who run the world still refuse to see and accept what is blatantly staring them in the face. I like information, no matter how much it conflicts with some of my own beliefs. I prefer to deal with reality no matter how much others choose a world of fantasy.

I know there are are many others out there who find this stuff very interesting. This is a book I would most certainly recomend.

this is one for the guilty pleasures list, just like junk food, you know its bad for you but you cant help yourself.....the essays contained within these pages are written by "experts" within their fields, knowledgeable academics with "years " of "experience" and research behind them.
Yes it does sound familiar to those that are paying attention for as many of these so called experts have had their theories printed.... but let me add that they are not quacks ...... some of the theories can and do stand on their own, I always love reading about lost continents/civilizations...but the point of this book is not in proving or disproving current field research but rather taking a different look at the evidence on hand and then totally disregarding said evidence to come up with your own conclusions... as far fetched as it can be some times be...eg levitation...it has a few merits.
Not a complete waste of time unless you are searching for some real answers but great for a stoners party...

Great book for people who are really into the ancient alien thing. If you aren't you might find the book a little too detailed. But if you are interested in this stuff it is loaded with cool information and the reasoning is beyond reproach, in my opinion anyway. Liked how if was broken up into different chapters by different authors, so you get the most knowledgeable person on each subject. Great reference book for a person obsessed with the weird world we live in, and one who also wonders why everyone else seems to ignore it.

This book is a compilation of different lost civilizations of our ancient world and how we in modern times have been effected by them.
Some of the best authors in this new and ancient history have written for this book. Among them are Frank Joseph, Philip Coppens, Steven Sora, and Eric Von Daniken. inad ever read about them include Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu, Eden and others.
One of the most interesting to me was the story about the Micmacs and the Picts. by Steven Sora. The Picks were in very early Scotland and everthing that I had ever read about them was that no one knew where they had come from. Sora gives credible reasons thar they were first cousins of the Micmac. The Micmac's home was on the northeastern shore ot the US which means there is a possibility that the Picks were originally from what is now the northeastern states of the US and went east to Scotland as opposed to most travel being from the east the west.

The more you read about the artifacts that are discovered all over the world and their similarities, it becomes easier to accept that the world was once visited by AB's. The only other theory I think about when I read a book like this , is that maybe Atlantis, and or Lemuria, developed a high tech civilization that destroyed itself by nuclear power. This book brought me to that thought. What will you think about when you read this book. If you are interested in opening your mind to the new thoughts of what our world was like, this will open your mind.

This is one if not the best book I've ever read. It's addicting and once I started it was hard to take a break. It is well written, thought out, researched and about time for a new school of thought as this book will help you see. I suggest that if your interested in the reality we've never had taught to us in public schools that this book will answer questions and create a desire in you to know more. It is a Great book

For the new ancient historians, this is a good place to start. There are a lot of references to new discoveries pre-dating our known historical records. Whatever was going on in the distant past, it was far more advanced than simple stone age. Coppens is actually a very good writer and has added a lot of insight into the societal structures that were taking place in a world that was very different from what we know today.

I like the fact that this anthology of essays presents the evidence and theories of many different researcher/writers. The contributions are all well researched and the citations are extremely helpful to anyone wishing to pursue further study of the subject matter.
A great way to get an overview of each writer and their particular area of interest...that can lead the reader to further exploration of their work.

5.0 out of 5 stars I recommend this one as a "must read"
Reviewed in Canada on September 4, 2014
This is a great book. I recommend it for anyone who also has "Forbidden Archeology" and similar works. It pulls together in one book a number of papers (Monographs?) by various authors dealing with similar themes. It adds beautifully to the growing list of critics of orthodoxy and the "blinkers" in the formal teachings. The book makes it easier to find this material than by hunting through various (and sometimes expensive) books that one might have on the shelf. A neat, handy and very interesting reference addition.

One star less, as there were a couple of chapters by misotheists (god haters) given a whole chapter each, to vent their own banal opinions on nothing. But some very good chapters. Good thing about a book like this, is coz it's by many authors, you don't get stuck reading a whole lot of rubbish by an idiot.
