Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde was born in Dublin on October 16, 1854. He died in Paris on November 30, 1900. He was an Irish poet, novelist, playwright and classical philologist. A representative of modernist aestheticism.
Oscar Wilde’s mother was the poet Lady Jane Wilde. He undertook studies, amongst other places at Magdalen College in Oxford. The course of 1878 marks the first poetry prize awarded to him in his biography. However, the year 1882 was the time of his departure to the United States, where he had the opportunity to conduct a series of lectures.
