VIOLET TUBEFLOWER, Iochroma cyaneum

Position: Full sun.

Soil: Prefers moist, well-drained soil, but fairly tolerant.

Height: 1.5 metres.

Flowers: Purple, tubular flower clusters in late summer. A

range of shades are available.

Prune: A light trim after flowering, but can be pruned back hard - even to ground level.


Note: Deciduous in cool climates, evergreen further north. Attracts bees and honey-eating birds. Take care when handling the flowers of this nightshade family member.
