My wife and I decided to place a camera outside of the children’s room facing away from the door. There was no need for a camera and we purchased one to improve the home’s sense of security. The thing I love the most about the camera is its subtlety. The plain white color and compact construction makes it almost invisible. Unlike other cameras with bulging shapes hanging like bats from the wall this camera stands vigilantly and not intimidatingly.

The Axis Companion Cube is a cool product which offers functionality and performance in a sleek and almost perfect casing. The camera house a built-in microphone to record audio, a speaker which works as an alert notification, and a motion sensor. The camera is 2 megapixels with full high definition video at 30 frames per second. The camera comes with a bracket making it easy to mount to a wall or corner. The camera has IR LEDs to get the most out of a dark situation. The camera has a single port which it uses to connect to the internet as well as providing itself with power. A built in SD card enables the camera to have local storage. The combination of features and perks is not complete without Axis’s video compression technology aimed to conserve space and transmission of data.

The video quality is sublime. For a camera of such a small size the image quality speaks volumes. Extremely easy to set up it’s as simple as hanging a shirt in the closet. So far I have found nothing to complain about this product except the one. A good value for money and comes with a three year warranty. The proximity sensor tends to go a little haywire by becoming very slow responding. Even as someone passes within range the alarm won’t go off. On the plus side at least the sensor doesn’t go off for no reason.
