Former model Charlotte Le Bon, a 27-year-old Canadian, got her start onscreen giving a burlesque gag-laden weather forecast on Canal Plus’ primetime talkshow. Her first movie appearance was in 2012’s comedy “Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia.”
BORN INTO IT
Le Bon didn’t grow up dreaming of life as a thesp; she experienced the reality of it. “Both my parents are actors, and I saw them struggle with work, waiting for phone calls,” she says.
CITY OF LIGHT
She was working as a model in Canada for eight years before launching her acting career, and says she came to France because that’s where the most offers came from. “I didn’t choose Paris,” she explains. “I like to think that the city chose me.”
A DIFFERENT JOURNEY
Like many Canadians, Le Bon is bilingual in French and English. She recently made her English-language acting debut in Lasse Hallstrom’s “The Hundred-Foot Journey” opposite Helen Mirren.
DESIGN FOR LIVING
Although she’s been cast mostly in comedies, she nailed her first performance in a drama as Yves Saint Laurent’s muse, Victoire Doutreleau, in Jalil Lespert’s biopic about the designer. “The thing about this job is that we make schizophrenia look glamorous,” she says.

AN ARTIST AT HEART
Le Bon has a passion for art. She co-organized an exhibit, Inside Out Lyon, in December, which commemorated the 30th anniversary of a key civil rights action that was the basis of her 2013 film “La Marche.”
