MILWAUKEE, WIS. – Christopher Due has been named the new executive director of the Burke Foundation Inc., after serving in multiple roles since 2021. Most recently, Due served as program officer within the foundation.

“Our board of directors is excited to enter a new era of leadership with Due as the executive director,” said foundation board member, Michele Deubel. “His knowledge, passion for the work and relationships with the community are strong assets that will help the foundation continue its positive impact in the lives of Milwaukee’s young people.”

Throughout his tenure, Due has strengthened partnerships with Burke Foundation grantees and members of the community, helping to leverage the foundation’s investments in local organizations. His passion and experience in urban education, Milwaukee nonprofit organizations and inclusive and equitable practices have helped to enhance his work supporting the people and organizations that the Burke Foundation partners with. In his new role as executive director, Due will work with the board to advance the foundation’s mission and principles while stewarding the vision set by Burke Foundation founder Richard Burke.

In response to his new role, Due offered, “The Burke Foundation has helped transform and improve the lives of thousands of young people in the city of Milwaukee. It is an honor to help continue this legacy as we seek to address the dynamic needs of young people and educators here in Milwaukee.”

Prior the Burke Foundation, Due worked at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin and Wastecap Resource Solutions in fundraising, programmatic and administrative roles. Due was a Trinity Fellow at Marquette University where he earned a Master’s of Business Administration and graduated from Xavier University with a bachelor’s degree in business
