Emily VanCamp (The Resident, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) will tackle intolerance with her next role.
The actress is set to lead Prejudice, a Canadian legal procedural from Celeste Parr (Hudson & Rex, This Life), our sister site Deadline reports.
VanCamp will portray Liesl Wellington, a rising Toronto litigator whose life is upended when her past as a sex worker comes to light. Ostracized by her professional and personal circles, she launches her own law firm to defend those who’ve also been silenced and delegitimized.
The show currently isn’t attached to a network, but it is described as a “heartening legal drama that takes on all the forces that conspire to keep the underdog hidden, silent, unequal and without agency,” per Keren Shahar, CEO of Keshet International — one of the show’s distributors.

Hope The CW or Hulu picks this up for the air in the US!!
Love her and so happy for her; she’s a tremendous actress
Exactly. Just with her name attached, I’m gonna at least check it out.
The Queen of Television is back! It’s going to be another great 4 season run!!!
Right like she cannot count up to five lol
SO looking forward to EVC’s new show! Really been missing her lately, after revisiting The Resident on Netflix. This sounds like a great role for her. And after watching her for almost 16 straight years, I look forward to seeing her again regularly! Also just rewatched Winter Soldier and the MCU really didn’t know how to utilize her well. I hope she gets a better showcase at some point (and they don’t Secret Invasion her).
Ruth Wilson is one of the most underrated actresses around. She and Emma Thompson together sound like a magnificent pairing.
Looking forward to Emily’s new show. I hope it find a proper home.
I love EVC and glad she got a new show, but it surprises me they keep hiring her since she has quit two series at their peaks.
WOW I’m hoping to see Emily Van Camp again in her new series, sounds amazing! So excited! She’s such a great actress!
Everything on here sounds like a win to me! Especially if Phillipa Soo’s character is a stage performer on the ship and we can hear her sing :)
So glad Emily is back on screen. But I’m glad she stay home with her baby.Know you’ll do great
I love everything Emily Vancamp has been in. So excited to see she is coming back for a new show. Hopefully a streaming network that I have picks it up(anything but apple)
