Rue has a long history associated with magical and medicinal use. 

Culturally around the globe, where Rue grows, the use is very similar. This plant has been known to ward off unwanted energies and is often ritually placed at the window sill or door frame to protect homes. 

Internally the plant is used for pelvic congestion and menstrual pain/ cramping. We have the plant listed for ritual use only, although for thousands of years it has successfully been used by famous physicians such as Dioscorides and Galen.

**This plant is not safe for use during pregnancy as it is abortifacient in nature. Large doses internally are mildly poisonous. Some people may experience dermatitis upon contact with the plant. **

RITUAL USE

• Place a small amount of Rue sprinkled in your window sill or doorways for keeping away unwanted people/ energy from coming to your home
• Use in a wearable satchel if you need extra protection (especially brides, pregnant women, babies, etc) 
• Burn as a traditional incense, often used for clearing and protecting spaces
