Tamerza (Arabic: تمغزة) or Tameghza is a mountain oasis located in the south-west of Tunisia (governorate of Tozeur). It is located about 450 kilometers from Tunis and 70 kilometers from Tozeur.

The site belonged under the name Ad Turres to the Saharan limes linking Tebessa to Gafsa. He was then in charge of the defense of the borders of the Roman Empire before becoming the seat of a bishopric under the Byzantines3. In some houses in the village, however, ancient materials are also found.
