New Balance’s Made In USA Program Gives The 998 A “Plum Purple” Makeover

New Balance’s Made In USA Program Gives The 998 A “Plum Purple” Makeover

Teddy Santis has revamped New Balance‘s Made In USA program over the last two years, making it one of the most anticipated collections of each season. Ahead of summer, the Queens-native has reimagined the New Balance 998 in a regal purple makeover.

Premium pig suede covers the bulk of the upper, with breathable mesh and high-quality pebbled leather also landing up-top. Different shades of purple divvy up most of the components from forefoot to heel, with silver accents joining the mix via the profile “N” logos and heel panels. “Made In USA” messaging is stitched onto the top of the tongue, denoting the pair’s manufacturing process. Underfoot, Abzorb-cushioned midsoles favor a yellow tint, offering an “aged” aesthetic in the process. Lastly, the outsole rounds out the look in a charcoal tone that allows for the sneaker’s heavily-purple arrangement to revel in the spotlight.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait to secure your size via newbalance.com on June 29th for $210 USD.
