Children at Saint Aldhelm's primary school have been busy creating a magical happiness trail across Doulting.

Students worked with professional artist Jasmine Collings to think about what makes them happy. Children chose different things sunshine, weekends, playing, friends, family… They were then each given their own 'happiness tin' and could create a design for the inside drawing pictures to depict their ideas and decorated the outside of their tins.

Tins were then attached to colourful posts which have been spread out across the village to make a colourful and magical trail across Doulting.

The train is up for everyone to enjoy and features 19 posts taking you on a circular trip around the village, enjoying lots of the beautiful sights and landmarks.

As part of the project children also worked with Jasmine to create a map where they drew out some of the local landmarks to help guide people around the trail. A map can be downloaded from www.makethesunshine.co.uk

This is part of a wide range of projects and workshops being run by Make the Sunshine in partnership with six local school – St Paul's CofE VC Junior School, Bowlish Infant School, St Aldhelm's Cof E VA Primary, The Federation of Croscombe and Stoke St Michael and Shepton Mallet Infants School. Each school has selected a project or theme that expresses one way in which they would like to change the world and have been working with a wide range of professional artists to create their projects.
