Palatka, FL (July 27, 2020) – Early this morning around 5:45 a.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported at an intersection in Palatka.

Authorities confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of FL-19 and CR-310 when two vehicles collided for reasons that are not yet known. According to police, one of the vehicles fled the scene of the accident immediately following the collision. It is not yet known if the party was found by the police.

Numerous emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident, including fire crews and paramedics. EMS crews assisted those with injuries, though the extent of the injuries is not yet known. It is believed that the parties were transported to the hospital.

All lanes of traffic were closed down for a period of time but police quickly reopened the scene.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
