Chang Chen to wed in mid-November

1 Nov – It was reported that Taiwanese actor Chang Chen will marry his lady love, former assistant Ann Zhuang, in mid-November.

According to China News website, sources claimed that on 18 November, the actor will say "I do" at director Hou Hsiao-hsien's production company, SPOT Taipei Film House, a venue chosen by the actor due to its unrestricted environment.

It was reported that the actor has already invited both of their families, as well as many celebrity guests to the ceremony, including Wong Kar-wai, his "The Grandmaster" co-stars Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi, director Ang Lee, Carina Lau, Shu Qi, and Takeshi Kaneshiro.

However, Chang has also recruited nearly 30 bodyguards to keep the paparazzi away on the day itself in order to maintain privacy.

When asked to confirm about the wedding plans, Chang Chen's representative stated, "Since most of his guests are very busy, he decided to schedule the wedding nearer towards the Golden Horse Awards event that falls on 23 November so that the guests can attend both events in a single trip to Taipei."

Chang met Ann Zhuang, who is now working as a Japanese translator, when she was his working assistant. Their relationship only came to light in 2011 after a tabloid magazine photographed the pair together.
