Skye SweetnamSkye Sweetnam (born Skye Alexandra Sweetnam on May 5, 1988 in Bolton, Ontario, Canada) is a pop\rock singer who started her career during the 2000s.
3 Song DemoSkye began singing & dancing as a young girl and by the time she was a teenager, she began songwriting. In 2000, she recorded a three-song demo with the help of a local music school in her hometown which was later released promotionally.

In 2003, she began working with Canadian music producer & instrumentalist James Robertson on her soon-to-be debut album.
Billy S.In May of that same year, Skye released the single “Billy S.” which was featured on the soundtrack to the film “How To Deal.” The song peaked at #15 on the Canadian Digital Songs chart and #92 on the France Top 100 chart. In Canada, the music video received airplay on the YTV and MuchMusic television channels.

From July to August 2003, Skye toured in summer camps as part of the “America Camplified Tour” and in September of that same year, she performed at some venues in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick & Ontario, Canada.
Tangled Up In MeIn March of 2004, she released her follow-up single “Tangled Up in Me” which peaked at #39 on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart and #37 on Billboard’s Top 40 Mainstream chart. It was managed to make the charts in Italy where it peaked at #39 on the Italy Top 50 chart.
Noise From The BasementIn September of that same year, Skye released her debut album, “Noise From the Basement” on Capitol Records which peaked at #124 on the Billboard 200 and #4 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers Albums chart.
Number OneThe last single released from the album, “Number One” didn’t chart, but in Canada, it managed to peak at #22 on the MuchMusic Top 30 Countdown in 2005. A shorter version of the song with different lyrics was used in commercials for the Women’s National Basketball Association (or the WNBA).
SuperstarOne of the tracks from the album, “Superstar” was released as a standalone track on iTunes. It’s unknown how or if the song made the charts at all.

During 2004, Skye toured in North America and Europe as the opening act for Britney Spears’ Onyx Hotel Tour. She was supposed to continue touring with Britney during the summer, but the tour was cancelled after Britney injured her knee. Skye was also featured on the soundtrack to the film “Sleepover” with the track “Imaginary Superstar.”

In August of that same year, Skye performed at the 4th Annual Pantene Pro-Voice Concert in New York City and toured with Ryan Cabrera in November of that same year as well.

Skye has provided the theme songs for various TV shows such as the Disney Channel animated series, “The Buzz on Maggie,” the Canadian animated sitcom, “Wayside” and the Canadian TV series, “Radio Free Roscoe.”

She also covered the song “Part of Your World” (from the Disney film, “The Little Mermaid”) which was featured on the compliation albums “Disneymania 3” and “DisneyRemixMania.” In 2006, Skye provided the singing voice for Barbie in “The Barbie Diaries.”

In 2007, she and singer Tim Armstrong (of punk rock band Rancid) released the single “Into Action” for Skye’s upcoming sophomore album. She was also the opening act for “Canadian Idol” winner Kalan Porter’s tour.
Sound SoldierIn October of 2007, she released her sophomore album “Sound Soldier” which didn’t appear to chart in Canada, but managed to peak at #161 on the Japan Oricon Weekly International Albums Chart.
HumanThe lead single from the album, “Human” was first released on her MySpace page as a sneak peak and the full version of the song was leaked to the Internet on September 8, 2007. It was nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award for “Best Cinematography” in 2008, but it’s unknown how or if the single made the charts at all.

The follow-up single, a rework of the song, “(Let’s Get Movin’) Into Action” was released, but it’s unknown how or if the single made the charts at all. Skye directed two music videos for two tracks from the album: “Music Is My Boyfriend” & “Babydoll Gone Wrong.”

On her MySpace page, Skye released the songs “Stay,” “Boomerang,” “MuSick” & “Wolves and Witches,” and also recorded the song “Lava Rock” for the video game, “Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll.”

In 2011, Skye formed a four-piece heavy metal and punk rock band called Sumo Cyco. They released their debut album, “Lost in Cyco City” in 2014. As of 2018, Skye continues to perform with the band.
