Gymnocalycium baldianum goes by the common name  “Spider-Cactus” or “Dwarf Chin Cactus”. This cactus is bulb-shaped and has a small body that is semi-flattened. The plant is native to Argentina and belongs to the family of Cactaceae. Gymnocalycium baldianum does dormant in the winter time and it can grow up to a height of 4 inches.

This cactus is known to grow at an extremely fast pace, usually blooming in the second year of growth.

Flowering

Gymnocalycium baldianum produces vibrant magenta, orange, purple-red, or white flowers. The flowers bloom freely in the spring and summer seasons.

Watering and Feeding

Spider Cactus has differing water needs. If you plant them in a garden, make sure you thoroughly soak them every 10 to 15 days.
