Justin Long was missing an important accessory during his latest TV appearance — his wedding ring.

The Goosebumps star, 45, tied the knot with actress Kate Bosworth only months ago, but it seems his wedding band has already gone missing. "I don’t have my ring on because I lost it, unfortunately," Long pointed out to Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Wednesday's episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.

After the audience groaned in response, Long quickly added, "Oh, okay, I didn’t have to reveal that! I could have just said I left it backstage!"

The actor went on to rave about Bosworth, 40, saying he feels "very lucky" to have her as his wife. He described having an instant connection with her when they first met.

"Right away, I knew I was going to be friends with her forever. We got along so well. I know it sounds so generic," he told Ripa and Consuelos.

Long also recalled a moment a few months into their relationship when he caught his first glimpse of Bosworth's "wild" side, making him even more convinced she was the one for him.

"She did something — and it’s not going to make any sense, it was very specific — and I just realized, I said to her, I looked at her, and said, ‘Oh you’re wild. You’re like, a little wild in you. Like, weird and wild.’ Which I hadn’t seen," he explained.

"And you were like, 'That's my person,' " Ripa, 53, prompted.

"That’s it, that’s what it takes!" Long replied. "But I always had — because she’s an actress in the world — I always had an idea of her."

Bosworth, too, had a certain impression of Long before getting to know him. "I said [to her], ‘Well what was your idea of me?’ And she said, ‘I don’t know, I thought you were like, comedy guy?’" Long recounted of their conversation.

Bosworth, of course, wanted to know Long's take on her. "I said, ‘I thought you were like, fashionista,'" he shared. "So we have those things in us, but I just completely misjudged."

The pair first sparked dating rumors in March 2022, after filming the thriller House of Darkness together in Arkansas in 2021. In April 2022, they were spotted kissing on a beach in Kauai, Hawaii, and they were later seen walking arm-in-arm in New York City.

Long publicly confirmed his romance with Bosworth during an appearance on the Dear Chelsea podcast in May 2022. After saying "Being in love is such a wonderful feeling," he allowed host Chelsea Handler to reveal Bosworth's identity.

"There's something about it, for me, that I feel like I need to protect and keep sacred because it feels sacred," he explained of his relationship with the Bring on the Dancing Horses star. "I've never had anything like this before; I've never experienced this. So it's something I want to protect and keep, you know?"

Later that same month, the couple made their romance Instagram official. Long shared a carousel of photos of the pair hamming it up for the camera as they drank pints of Guinness during a pub date in Ireland.

In March 2023, sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Long and Bosworth had gotten engaged. "Kate is just on cloud nine," an insider said. "She is showing off her engagement ring to friends. She is being coy about details, but she is beaming."

It was a short-lived engagement, as just two months later, Long referred to Bosworth as his "now-wife" on the Life is Short podcast. A source later told PEOPLE the duo had quietly married during a spur-of-the-moment wedding ceremony at the Rockaway Hotel in Queens, New York.

"After they got engaged, Kate couldn’t wait to marry Justin. She knew that she never wanted a big wedding. She just cared about being married," the source said. "They kept talking about eloping. They ended up having an impromptu and casual wedding. It was perfect."
