Colin Hanks ‘confident’ Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson will make a full recovery

Colin Hanks says he’s “confident” that his father Tom Hanks and stepmom Rita Wilson will be able to fight the coronavirus after testing positive in Australia.

The 42-year-old actor said early Thursday the couple is in good spirits as they remain isolated in stable condition in a Queensland hospital.

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from everyone. My parents are receiving excellent care in Australia and are doing well (and in good spirits) given the circumstances,” Colin wrote on Twitter.

He continued saying, “Despite the fact that I’m in LA and haven’t seen them in over three weeks, we have been in constant contact and am confident that they will make a full recovery.”

Tom Hanks announced the couple’s diagnoses Wednesday after he and his wife came down with colds, aches and slight fevers.

“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus and were found to be positive,” he said, adding they’ll be “isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.”

The two-time Oscar winner had been in Australia working on an untitled Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann.
